What is Discipleship?
At Every Nation, we believe discipleship is a lifestyle of following Jesus, and helping others to do the same.
Jesus calls us to be His disciples:
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.”
Mark 1:17 (NIV)
Discipleship is a call to follow Jesus.
The starting point of being a disciple is to follow Jesus. Following Him requires that we give up our whole lives—mind, will, emotions, past, present, and future—to follow Him.
Discipleship is a call to fish for people.
Jesus expects all who follow Him to help others find and follow Him. Following Jesus does not mean that we cut off all contact with non-Christians. Rather, it means we actively seek to introduce them to Jesus.
Discipleship is a call to fellowship with others.
None of the original disciples attempted to follow Jesus alone. Following Him meant following along with other disciples. Discipleship, therefore, is a call to build relationships on three levels: with God, with those who don’t know God yet, and with God’s people.
What is a Disciple?
A disciple is someone who lives by personal conviction of who Jesus is, based on biblical truth and reproduces it in others.
At Every Nation, we believe that discipleship is best done in a small group context and it is therefore the primary platform we use to make disciples. If you want to become a disciple of Jesus then we invite you to join a connect group! Get Connected!
What is a Connect Group?
A Connect group is where we learn to follow Jesus, fish for people, and fellowship with other believers. It’s a place to build relationships on three levels: with God, with those who don’t know God yet, and with God’s people. A connect group is a group of 2 – 4 Men or Women who meet once a week, for about sixty to ninety minutes.
How do I join a Connect group?
You can join a connect group group by speaking to the person who invited you or by filling out a get connected card at one of our Sunday worship Services or by simply clicking the link JOIN A CONNECT GROUP.
Discipleship Growth Path
Our discipleship growth path follows a four-part process: Engage culture and community, Establish biblical foundations, Equip believers to minister and Empower disciples to make disciples. The discipleship growth path is explained below.

As part of our lifestyle we intentionally engage the culture and community through a conversation or activity, to build relationships with pre-believers and ultimately share the message of the Gospel with them.
